Disc Golf excitement takes over central square

Throughout the summer, Tampere Central Square Summer 2025 offers a vibrant atmosphere with various events coming to the city. Next up, the square will come alive with disc golf excitement as the Professional Disc Golf World Championships take place in Tampere and Nokia starting July 29. In addition to a public viewing area, visitors can test their own putting skills.
This is the first time the Disc Golf World Championships are being held outside North America. The competitive spirit will be present at the central square starting Tuesday, July 29, when the women’s and men’s putting champions will be determined on-site. The official tournament begins on Wednesday, July 30, and the square will serve as the public viewing area until the event concludes on Sunday, August 3. Alongside the viewing area, visitors can enjoy putting challenges and other fun activities.
The summer event series at the square continues until early September. After disc golf, the square will host events such as the European Athletics U20 Championships, the International Fitness Olympics, Festivaali, and a concert by Apulanta. To wrap up the summer, the central square will transform into a “wolf’s den” in celebration of the European Basketball Championships.
The Tampere Central Square Summer 2025 event area is open all summer and welcomes everyone — it’s free of charge and open to all ages. The area’s restaurants will also be open during events. Up-to-date information on opening hours, side events, and any changes can be found on the event area’s website and social media channels.
